Opportunities for Experienced
Healthcare Workers

To apply as an Aged Care Worker in Australia, you need to meet the following requirements:

Have at least 1 year of healthcare work experience up to 3 years in some circumstances
Be between 18 and 55 years old
Pass the IELTS exam with a score band of 5.5
Submit necessary documents such as NBI Clearence, Valid ID, Academic Transcript, Resume/CV and your Passport
Possess a Certificate III in Individual Support or undergo a skills assessment

Opportunities for Non Experienced
Healthcare Workers

Embark on AFHA's recommended program through our RTO (Registered Training Organisation) Partner to attain your Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021)

What it is

This Certificate qualifies graduates to work as aged care workers or nursing assistants in residential aged care facilities, community care, or disability organisations.

It opens up many career opportunities for those wishing to work with the elderly, provide individual support in the broader community, or become Support Workers in the disability care industry.

How and where you’ll learn

Blended delivery including online and classrom training in fully equipped AFHA facilities.

How long it takes

Twelve weeks of theory and four weeks of practical assessment.

What you’ll need

You must be at least 18 years old at the commencement of the course.

A High School completion certificate.

A reasonable level of physical fitness to practice manual handling tasks.

An intermediate level of English language competency (with a minimum academic IELTS test result of 5.5)

Must be willing to apply for, or already hold, a current National Police Clearance (NBI), not older than three months prior to the date of employment in Australia.

An overseas workers certificate.
